The mandated purpose of the Regional Sports, Recreational and Cultural Infrastructure service is to strengthen cost sharing for major facilities and infrastructure related to sport, recreation and culture to improve sustainability and affordability, better reflect service and benefit areas and make more strategic investments.
The Regional Service Commission is tasked with identifying sport, recreational and cultural infrastructure within the region, both existing and future and to determine the apportionment of costs among the members in a manner and in accordance with the regulations.
